"NitroPouch", Krones’ novel ultralight PET bottle production process, is prized with the gold Water Innovation Award 2008, standing up to 200 competitors from 40 nations. With a mere 6.6 grams of weight, the 500-ml “PET lite 6.6” bottle, based on “NitroPouch”, constitutes a new milestone in the field of lightweight beverage containers.

At the “Mechanical Engineering Strategy Price“ awards ceremony, Krones AG won the “Best strategic process“ category. Krones AG’s detailed market analyses and the integration of financial planning and employee goals into its strategy were the crucial factors for the jury's decision.

In a study by the Berlin Institute for Future Studies and Technology Assessment on sustainability (use of economic, ecological and social resources), Krones came in 4th place.
2006
IG-Metall gave Krones Flensburg an award for its work with the new generation. IG-Metall awards the "Training Certificate" to those companies that worked particularly hard to support their new generation.
2005
Krones AG won the national "Machine Construction Strategy Prize". The Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board Hans-Jürgen Thaus accepted the prize during the "German Machine Construction Summit".

The China Beer Association honoured the more than 20 years of work by Krones AG on behalf of the Chinese brewing industry. Volker Kronseder was also named outstanding businessman of the year 2005.

Jürgen Grzybeck, surface treatment foreman from the Flensburg plant, was awarded the 2005 environmental protection badge by the Schleswig-Holstein economic study and development association Studien- und Fördergesellschaft der Schleswig-Holsteinischen Wirtschaft e.V. This was in recognition, among other things, of his work in reducing solvent consumption.
2004
On the occasion of Rescue 2004, Dr. Axel Becher, company doctor for Krones AG, and Christian Wallner, a paramedic in the company medical service, were awarded a 2004 Rescue Prize. This was in honour of their work in diagnosing a heart attack in a Krones employee.
