Bearing the Responsibility Together – Suppliers Must Meet High Standards

The suppliers and their delivery reliability are a crucial factor in our efforts to maintain our steady growth. Again, the long-standing and fair relationship that we have traditionally cultivated with our business partners helps us here.

We purchase raw materials, products and services with a value of around € 1.1 billion from contractual partners in some 60 countries. We expect them to conduct their business in line with our corporate ethical values. When choosing business partners, we take their track record in terms of sustainable and socially responsible operations into account. This is based on our purchasing guidelines which have been in force across the group since 2001. They cover the issues of safety, health, the environment, quality, human rights, employee standards and anti-corruption measures.

Supplier Certification
Krones AG has developed a requirements catalogue in order to communicate the expectations placed on suppliers and contractual partners. By the end of 2008 we want to have valued 90% of our global purchasing volume for raw, auxiliary and operating materials and packagings, finished products and bought-in services on the basis of the questionnaire. On the basis of this valuation we will agree measures for improvement and carry out audits as required.
