Carton for carton – Singha beer for Thailand’s beer lovers

To upsize its filling capacities still further, the Thai brewery group Boonrawd, drawing inspiration from its corporate traditions, commissioned two new filling lines for returnable and non-returnable glass bottles at its Khon Kaen facility in early 2007. In both lines, which went into operation early in 2007, Boonrawd is using full-size cartons. Krones provides the Variocart carton erector for this packaging task.
The Variocart erects the pre-glued carton blanks so that the Blitzpac can pack the bottles in the cartons. Then the Variocol carton lid sealer glues the full cartons securely and precisely with hotmelt.
The compact, intermittently operating Variocart carton erector handles a variety of carton types. The packer, which can handle up to 50 cartons per minute, easily copes with the line output of 36,000 filled bottles per hour. In the continuously operating Variocol, lateral belts guide the cartons, and spring-loaded compression plates close the cover flaps after glue application.
Variocart and Variocol are reliable machines with a simple design, which produce frequently used and popular beer cartons with a high functional and optical quality for the Thai market.
