Frucor, New Zealand, packs lifestyle beverages with Krones machines
Since setting up the company in the sixties, Frucor Ltd., Auckland, has developed into a leading New Zealand beverage producer with a wide range of fruit juices, fruit-juice beverages, energy drinks, water and soft drinks. Since 2002, Frucor has been part of the French Danone group. Frucor produces brands like "V", New Zealand´s favourite energy drink, the lifestyle drink "G-Force", and the near-water drink "Mizone Sportswater" with added vitamins.
For packing these products, most of them marketed in cans, Frucor will be using a Variopac FS70/2, a Modulpac WT 25 and a Variopac FS30. They replace older machines in the existing can line for the "V" product series.
The Variopack FS forms the grouped cans into shrink packs that are finished in the downstream shrink tunnel. The large machine, operating at 70 cycles, is designed with two lanes, whereas the small machine, operating at 30 cycles, is a single-lane version. The Modulpac is used for the low output range as a wrap carton and tray packer for non-returnables at slow speeds. The modularised design allows for producing trays with film, pads with film, loose film-wrapped containers or (carton) trays with cover.
Besides the packing machine for non-returnable containers – such as the Variopac and the Modulpac series – Krones offers, of course, a variety of machines for the returnables sectors as well as palletisers.
