MES – the key to a transparent operation

Information as a decision-making aid for the manager of a production facility is gaining steadily in importance in these times of ever-shrinking margins. The MES (Management Executive System) package from Krones is also a pivotal element in implementing a turnkey project at the Vietnamese Sabeco Brewery for its new plant in the Cu Chi industrial estate. When data are consistently collected and interlinked throughout the entire operation, this will increase the transparency of the production process involved, providing the operator with vital support for planning and operational sequences, with documentation and analysis of production data, and with useful tips on how to optimise the operational sequences and maintenance work concerned. Using an MES will result in improved lifecycle costs for the line, higher levels of availability (OEE – Overall Equipment Effectiveness), plus a faster return on investment for the IT solution in question.

The building blocks in Krones’ MES package:

• Line management system – with control functions for orders and recipes, plus a line management function for controlling the order sequence in the production operation
• Line documentation system – with the LDS documentation and logging software, the QualiKit lab information system and the SIPS maintenance module
  ReportKit – the database for technical reporting and for determining ratios
