Coherent filling and packaging concepts for mineral water

With an overall capacity of 80 million litres per year, Sirma is among the top brands on the Turkish mineral water market. With the introduction of aromatised products, Sirma mineral water, filled in 0.2-l and 0.25-l glass bottles, has constantly gained market share.
To assure the requisite machinery resources for keeping pace with this growth, Sirma Mineral Water installed a new Krones line in 2007, rated at 40,000 bottles an hour. The specific goals of this investment project were capacity upsizing, quality enhancement in terms of filling, mixing and labelling, and a reduction in operating costs.
The new line comprises a Pressant 1N bulk-glass sweep-off depalletiser, a Mecafill VKP counterpressure filler, a Solomatic labeller for dressing the bottles in body, back and shoulder labels, and a Pressant 2500 non-returnables palletiser for palletising the sales packs. A Contiflow mixer is integrated for blending the aromatised waters.
The production facility for still water in Sapanca is getting a 40,000-bph line for 0.5-l and optionally 1.5-l PET bottles: A Contiform II S 24 stretch blow-moulder, a VODM-PET volumetric filler and a Contiroll-HS wrap-around labeller, plus the entire dry end comprising a Variopac Pro - FS-70 and a Pressant Universal 1N non-returnables palletiser for filling, packing and palletising at maximum speed.
