Safely packed product variety
Milk-based mixed beverages, drinking yogurts, drinking whey, probiotic dairy products and other fermented milk beverages as well as soy milk are gaining market shares. The large variety of flavours places higher demands on the packaging technology involved, as the food retail trade has to be supplied with the required product types in the required quantities. Shrink packs, trays, pads or wrap-around cartons offer the producer a wide range of pack varieties. Frequent product changeover, small batch sizes or combined flavours are the requirements to be met by efficient packing machines for non-returnable containers.
The Gropper dairy in Bissingen, packs sorted yoghurt products, filled PET containers in their Krones four-colour filler, in 3x4 high-board trays. The continuously operating Wrapapac packer flexibly handles different container formats and pack formations concerned so that the product combination can easily be modified.
Shamrock Farms in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, operates a Variopac packer for processing HDPE bottles with ESL milk. The containers are placed on a tray which is then shrunk in the heat tunnel.
The fully automatic, continuously operating Variopac, Wrapapac and Modulpac packers form the packs according to the inline principle. Continuous product guidance, servodrive technology and the programmed wrapping curves for trays, cartons or film are decisive for accurately shaped packs with a high optical standard. The modular machines are supplied for different output ranges and can be retrofitted with the appropriate modules to handle new packaging tasks.
