Labelling PET oil bottles with the Contiroll HS

The Brazilian producer Comigo has installed its first PET filling line in a new hall at the Rio Verde plant in the state of Goias, where the agri-industrial cooperative Comigo refines approximately 170 tons of soybean oil per day. This new line also includes a Contiroll HS labeller.
The high-speed wrap-around labeller is designed for dressing containers with precut labels. With an output of as many as 67,500 containers an hour, the newly developed Contiroll HS sets a new standard. This means that in future, even in high-speed lines, a single Contiroll will suffice to cover all labelling tasks – there will be no need for a second Contiroll unit.
New drive concepts for reel holder and cutting unit make such a high speed possible. The label reel holder is equipped with a servo drive that replaces the eddy-current brake used previously. The servodrive allows for immediate start and rapid deceleration of reel unwinding. The newly developed cutting unit is also driven by its own servo motor.
The quick-change vacuum cylinder, which has been designed without gripper fingers, allows for handling different container diameters and implementing different output ranges. The Contiroll HS reaches speeds of 22,500 to 67,500 containers an hour. It can handle labels between 240 mm and 600 mm in length. Changeover from one container type to another is completed in approximately ten minutes. The Contiroll HS facilitates the use of affordable label papers as well as fully-automatic labelling with different film types.
