Blow-moulder/filler BLOC for the Hungarian mineral water bottler Szentkirályi

Szentkirályi has soared from 0.2 per cent to a 20 per cent share of the Hungarian mineral water market within four short years. In mid-2007, the mineral water bottler commissioned a complete line from Krones rated at 38,000 bph for 1.5-l Pet bottles, which are now also produced in-house instead of being outsourced as previously. “The savings alone from dispensing with contract stretch blow-moulding of the PET containers will pay for the entire line in just two years”, calculates Managing Director Levente Balogh.
For reasons of both technology and hygiene, Szentkirályi has opted for a Krones BLOC configuration, featuring a Contiform S14 stretch blow-moulding machine with a Mecafill VKP-PET-DL filler. The BLOC is enclosed in a cleanroom with laminar-flow overpressure generation and air scrubbing with HEPA filters. In addition, the hopper loading system and feed unit for the preforms are also covered. The blow-moulder’s special features include its ability to change over from handling PET bottles with a water base for still water to a petaloid-based container for carbonated water merely by replacing the base moulds - the two side moulds remain unchanged. The production spectrum comprises 0.5-l and 1.5-l PET-Containers with screw caps, and optionally 0.75-l sportscapped bottles as well.

Following wrap-around labelling on a Contiroll labeller, the containers are shrink-wrapped and palletised on a Pressant Universal. The line also incorporates a VarioClean CIP system and a Contiflow 45 beverage mixer.
