Brewery technology – developed traditional manufacturing procedures

Processes that have been applied for centuries characterise the production of beer. Modern plants for beer brewing, bottling and labelling and for the entire packing sector have turned the profession of the brewer into a high-performance industry.
And the success shows continuity:
Almost 1.6 billion hectolitres of beer were produced worldwide in 2005. This means a growth of three per cent compared to the previous year. 105 million hectolitres – 6.5 per cent of worldwide beer production – come from German brewhouses. The only countries with a higher beer production were China with 306 million hectolitres and the USA with 230 million hectolitres. The worldwide concentration process in the brewing industry continues. In 2005, the world´s ten largest brewing groups with an output of 926 million hl produced approximately 58 per cent of the global beer market volume. In 2004, their share was 55 per cent, with a production quantity of 865 million hl.*
The growth of the beer industry is attributed, among other things, to the innovative strength: New products such as beer-mix drinks and speciality beers complement the product range of many large and small breweries. The application of new technical solutions, too, has become a matter of course for the brewers who all have a sense of tradition.
With its brewing plants, Krones AG provides future-oriented and energy-saving solutions. Yet this is not enough: With complete lines for bottling, labelling, packing and palletising, every brewer can realise his entire production and packing process with Krones solutions. An invaluable advantage: technology for beer from a single source.
