First Contiform for Coca-Cola Japan

Coca Cola National Beverages Company (CCNBC) has placed an order with Krones for two Contiform S24 stretch blow-moulding machines. With a market share above 30 per cent, Coca-Cola is the leading beverage company in all of Japan’s soft-drink categories.
The first Contiform S24 stretch blow-moulding machine is installed at the Ebino Coca-Cola plant on the island of Kyushu, and linked up inline to an aseptic line. The new line is bottling beverages like Hajime Green Tea, the Sokenbicha tea blend, the isotonic drink Aquarius and the Georgia range of coffee products. The Contiform S24 is mainly blowing 280 ml and 500 ml PET bottles, as well as a new generation of 450 ml rectangular PET containers. The second Contiform S24 is installed at the Daisen Coca-Cola plant in the Tottori prefecture and linked to a mineral water aseptic filling line. There the main bottle sizes are 2000 ml rectangular and 500 ml.
The Contiform S is a two-step stretch blow-moulding machine. It comprises a cam-controlled blowing wheel and alongside linear oven. The maximum machine speed is 1,800 bph per blowing station. More than 450 machines of this type are already being used worldwide, providing continuous high performance. Sophisticated energy saving concepts such as the blowing air recycling system Air Wizard and the recirculation of cooling water in the blow moulds ensure maximum energy efficiency and minimise production costs.
