Bottling spirits with Isofill VV
The Dutch distillery Nolet pursues its growth with a new third filling line. For filling the traditional genever Ketel 1 and the vodka Ketel One, the company has ordered a line rated at 14,000 bph from Krones.
The empty bottles fed into the line are passed to a Variojet rinser BLOC-synchronised with an Isofill VV filler, the typical spirits filler. The mechanically controlled vacuum filler with short-tube valves works on the isobarometric filling principle. Thanks to the vacuum atmosphere in the ring bowl and in the bottle, filling can be relied upon to be dripless, because the filling tube’s content is kept there once the filling function has been completed. Moreover, very accurate fill levels are achieved since the system auto-corrects any overfills. The standard deviation is usually less than 1 mm. In this way, firstly valuable product is saved, and secondly the statutory fill-volume ordinance complied with. Two sealers are linked up to the filler, one for Guala closures with spouts, which are put on the 1.75-l bottle. A second roll-on pilferproof capper applies screw-caps to all of the smaller bottles. A Checkmat integrated into the filler then checks the fill level and monitors the bottles for the correct brand of closure having been applied.
