Cost-efficient cellar technology in the brewery

The concept for the entire cellar technology in a brewery’s fermentation and storage cellars is based on optimised routing for pipes and connections between the various tanks involved.
Krones’ TwinPro cellar concept is based on double-seat valves, grouped together in the fermentation and storage cellars in filling and draining racks for several tanks, linked together by tank loops. This reduces the number of valves and piping sections, enabling the pump ratings, and thus the pipe resistances, to be downsized. A decentralised configuration of the valve racks ensures easy maintenance and reliable detection of leaks. Since one to four tanks can be grouped together in individual loops, only a minimised amount of piping is needed to connect them, which leads to leads to reduced media consumption and lower electricity costs.

The most innovative feature of the TwinPro cellar concept is that the filling and draining racks are connected via pipe bypasses, which minimises discharge paths and ensures optimum media separation. Discharges can optionally be re-used for production and cleaning processes.
Krones’ Plant Construction people design the cellar system for the fermentation and storage cellars in conjunction with the brewery. Instead of the automated TwinPro concept, solutions featuring manually operated valves can also be provided.
Cellar technology to state-of-the-art standards in a brewery’s fermentation and storage cellars, in conjunction with the valve control system and tanks manufactured in-house, is the yardstick for cost-efficient operations.
