Sabeco’s turnkey brewery in Cu Chi offers perfect production conditions

The turnkey project of the Sabeco brewery in Vietnam provided for the complete brewery to be constructed in three phases. As the main contractor for this project, Krones handled all the work involved in engineering, machinery and systems technology, together with the relevant control systems and all utilities, like water, CO2, compressed air, refrigeration or heat. This turnkey order also covered the architectural design and construction of the brewery, like process buildings, tank farm, bottling hall, wastewater treatment, laboratory plus equipment, offices, canteen, company restaurant, and landscaping.
The brewhouse in the 1st stage of expansion has been dimensioned for 4 brews per day and 6 brewing days a week. The cast-out quantity is 1,000 hl of hot wort per brew. The turnkey brewhouse is equipped with state-of-the-art Steinecker technology: two wet mills, a Powermill rated at 40 t/h, and a Variomill rated at 5 t/h, a Pegasus lauter tun, plus a Stromboli wort boiling system including a lautered-wort heater and energy recovery.
In the cold section, the yeast propagator, a tank farm with 20 cylindro-conical fermentation tank, TFS diatomite filter and PVPP horizontal filter for 400 hl/h, bright-beer tank cellar with 6 tanks each holding 2,609 hl, plus the carbonator, exemplify the state of the art in terms of can-do brewing technology.

In the bottling operation, the brewery’s turnkey order includes two identical returnable-glass lines, each with a capacity of 30,000 bottles an hour. The machinery package comprises the palletiser and depalletiser, the Linapac II packer and unpacker, the Mecafill VKPV filler, the Starmatic labeller, the Lavatec KD bottle washer and the Sander Hansen pasteuriser, plus the Multitronic and Checkmat inspection systems. And Krones did, of course, also supply all the other components you would expect in a turnkey brewery  project – like the electrics, the control systems or the pack and container conveyors.
