PET bottle quality control

Detecting and rejecting faulty PET bottles on the spot: with PETView, quality control is can be provided directly at the PET bottle production facility. The PETView inspection unit is integrated in the Contiform ahead of the bottle discharge area at the stretch blow-moulding machine. Two goals are achieved in a single inspection step: quality testing of the produced containers and monitoring of the stretch blow-moulding process, and containers that have been detected as faulty are rejected. This constitutes an efficient control instrument for optimally functioning processes.

What does PETView check?

• Base inspection comprising the inspection for contamination, pearling, the concentricity of the gate and the pressing-on position of the stretching point
• Sealing surface inspection and check of ovality, surface damages and irregularities
• Sidewall inspection with examination of material thickness, contamination with foreign matter, contour and pearling

This inspection unit, based on DART technology, together with the Contiform allows for monitoring the stretch blow-moulding machine.  Depending on the requirements of the customer concerned, the inspection can be combined with message signals or a machine stop.
