La Victoria Food sauces – inspection technology assures optimum visual appeal

The American food producer SK Foods – Lemoore uses conveyor, labelling and inspection technology from Krones for handling its La Victoria Food sauces. Rated at 19,800 containers an hour, the line handles 48-oz PET bottles, 64-oz can containers, 128-oz PP bottles, and 15-oz PP sauce containers. A modularised Prontomodul labeller with a Canmatic hot melt station for paper labels and an Autocol APS 3 station for the pressure-sensitive labels ensures perfect dress for this extensive range of containers. Label inspection monitors the type and positioning of the labels concerned. Both the paper and plastic labels used can be inspected. The DART evaluation technology also provides options for barcode and coding/dating detection.

Inspection units from the Checkmat range are able to handle several different tasks in a bottling line:

• Presence and accurate positioning of the labels and tax strips are monitored by a Checkmat FM-X with an integrated monitor.
• The Checkmat EM monitors the fill level and the closure position.
• On the Checkmat label inspector, a CCD camera monitors the precise positioning, use of the right label, and the correctness of label coding/dating on the container. Highly reflective labels can be inspected as well.
• The Checkmat system for fill level inspection utilises infra-red, X-ray or gamma-ray detection to suit the type of container and the product involved. Closures are inspected using a sensor or camera system.

The SynCo container conveyors – constructed of stainless steel throughout – ensure product-friendly transport of the containers and high levels of efficacy.
