Labeller for edible oil bottles with sleeving

Edible oil from Salov S.p.A. is labelled using a Krones labeller. The brands Sagra on the Italian market and Filippo Berio abroad are strengthening the company’s already-enviable position on the olive oil market worldwide. Salov produces about 140 million litres of olive oil a year; and is now launching a range of seed oils in one-litre containers. These will be dressed using a high-performance labeller from Krones: the new one-litre PET bottles are dressed by a Sleevematic Inline labeller with a Shrinkmat steam tunnel.
The Sleevematic labeller is an ideal solution for dressing PET bottles. Applying a plastic sleeve to the PET bottles creates more scope for creative design by the edible-oil producer. Fed in from above, the sleeve is cut to the desired length by a cutting unit and pulled over the PET bottle using a transfer module. Depending on the dress specifications involved, full sleeves or part-sleeves are used.

• Full-sleeve: the bottle is surrounded completely by the sleeve in terms of both circumference and height. The bottle’s entire contour can thus be utilised for enhancing the product’s visual image.
• Part-sleeve: the sleeve label covers only a part of the bottle; here, the product inside the bottle is visible through the remaining uncovered area of the bottle.

The Shrinkmat steam tunnel downstream of the labeller ensures that the films are perfectly shrunk for a snug fit on the bottle contour. Adjustable nozzle manifolds in the tunnel control high-precision steam treatment for different bottle formats or sleeve sizes.
