Sterile water for production with a PET-aseptic line

In the Swiss town of Dietlikon, Coca-Cola Beverages AG has opted for a Krones PET-aseptic line, including the entire process technology for the production operations, complete with the syrup kitchen, a product flash pasteuriser, a mixer, a sterile water-UHT, a VarioClean CIP system, a clean-steam generator and a hygiene centre.
The sterile water-UHT AquaAsept sterilises softened drinking water for the production process and supplies the hygiene centre with this water via a ring line for rinsing after surface disinfection in the isolator. In addition, the sterile water is used for preparing the surface disinfection medium and for rinsing out the bottles in the rinser. The filler, too, is flushed clear with sterile water after production has been completed. Another function involves heating up the hot water for sterilising the aseptic monobloc.
The VarioClean CIP system cleans the aseptic filler monobloc and the AquaAsept sterile water UHT system, plus the Contiflow mixer, the VarioAsept flash pasteuriser, the VarioStore sterile tank and the syrup kitchen, using cleaning media from three tanks containing caustic, acid and hot water respectively, via two independent admission pipes.
The VarioDos hygiene centre incorporates a nozzle system in the interior of the isolator, plus a mixing station for chemical solutions, and controls preparation of the peracetic acid solution, the alkaline foam cleaning function, the control system for cold water gush-type jetting with sterile water and sterilisation of the nozzle system with food-grade saturated steam. A separate chemicals store has also been provided for this purpose.
Outside the hall, Coca Cola joined forces with Krones to build a new steam boiler house featuring a 1,000-kg clean-steam generator and a reverse osmosis system. The steam generators supply the following line components: the hygiene centre, the aseptic monobloc, the flash pasteuriser’s sterile tank, the sterile water UHT system, the CIP system and the nitrogen droppler with sterile, food-grade saturated steam as clean steam or working steam.
Now that all the process technology building blocks have been integrated, such as sterile water supply for the production process, the client enjoys a complete, conveniently single-sourced solution.
