Corporate responsibility for the environment

Large machinery builders like Krones AG are inevitably faced with a dilemma. Our business is producing machines and lines for our customers. And these lines must meet all our customers’ performance and production criteria. As a stock corporation, we also have an obligation to our shareholders to produce optimum financial results. Finally, today’s society rightfully expects that we do all of this while reducing the amount of resources we extract from the environment, the amount of waste we put back into the environment, the amount of harmful chemicals we use or generate in our production processes, and the amount of materials we take out of the materials cycle.

Thus, we are engaged in a perpetual balancing act – balancing our business targets and our indisputable corporate responsibility to protect the environment – that is apparent at various points throughout this environmental report. Moving forward, we will continue to assess all of our activities with respect to their environmental impact. We will also continue to do everything in our power to ensure that this process yields promising new, sustainable solutions for our production and our customers.
