Gernep GmbH is a medium-sized mechanical engineering company (> 90 employees), part of a business unit (> 500 employees) within an international group (> 20,000 employees worldwide).
Founded in 1985 in Barbing, Bavaria (Germany), Gernep is now recognized as one of the leading specialists in the labelling machine industry. It became part of the Krones Group back in 2015. Since then, Krones has been bundling solutions for filling and packaging consumer goods in the low and medium output range in its Compact Class business unit (BU). In view of the current transformation in the beverage and liquid food industry, Krones is realigning its profitable growth course in this segment. The Compact Class consists of four different subsidiaries/ locations: Gernep GmbH, Kosme Italy, Kosme Austria and the sales and service company Kosme FBA. These entities are now to be brought together under one roof.
Reporting Line of the position: solid reporting line to the Managing Director of Gernep in Germany, plus close collaboration with the Compact Class BU Head in Italy and the HR functions of the BU subsidiaries in Italy and Austria, and close coordination with Krones Group HR in Germany.

Your tasks

  • Strategic and operational responsibility for all HR topics at the German site, incl. Employer Branding, Recruiting, Comp&Ben, Talent Management, HR Legal and all HR Operations
  • Being an active member of the Compact Class HR Leadership team, coordination and consolidation of HR activities within the business unit together with our sites in Italy and Austria
  • Advising and supporting the MD and BU Manager on HR matters
  • Personnel planning, development, and recruitment in close coordination with the management
  • Supporting change processes and organizational development within the BU
  • Ensuring compliance with labor law requirements and internal group guidelines
  • Taking on tasks in controlling (CO) and finance (FI), especially at the HR interface
  • Reporting and KPI management for HR-related topics within the BU
  • Responsibility for the implementation and further development of the company-specific collective agreement, which is negotiated directly with IG Metall
    Preparation and execution of collective bargaining negotiations, especially for the introduction of missing collective elements such as an ERA pay system
  • Cooperative collaboration with the works council, including the conclusion of collective agreements
  • Ensuring the works council’s involvement in accordance with the Works Constitution Act (BetrVG) in day-to-day business and in personnel and organizational measures

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completed studies in business, human resources management, psychology, or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in HR, ideally in a medium-sized industrial company
  • Experience working with international teams and in matrix organizations
  • Knowledge of controlling (CO) and finance (FI), ideally with SAP experience
  • Excellent knowledge of German labor law, especially collective bargaining law and cooperation with trade unions and works councils
  • Experience in the introduction and implementation of HR processes and systems
  • Experience in collective bargaining and dealing with IG Metall is an advantage

Language Skills:

  • German: Business fluent
  • English: Very good written and spoken skills (working language in the BU)
  • Italian: Advantageous

Special Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the BU (Italy, Austria)
  • Experience with corporate structures and matrix reporting lines is a plus
  • Willingness to take on collective bargaining responsibilities and actively contribute to the further development of the company-specific collective agreement
  • Ability to work constructively with the works council and implement collective agreements
