Additional sleeving labeller for Krones aseptic line
The Spanish dairy group Grupo Leche Rio is expanding an existing aseptic line from Krones to accommodate container sleeving.
In 2019, the Spanish dairy group Grupo Leche Rio S.A. installed a Krones aseptic block with blow-moulder for filling UHT milk in PET containers. The family-owned Spanish company has now expanded this line, adding the requisite sleeving equipment.
Labelling in the dry-aseptic line commissioned two years ago was originally handled by a Contiroll machine. Grupo Leche Rio now intends to complement its current 1.5-litre container with two new formats. The bottles are supposed to be holding 220 and 330 millilitres respectively and featuring promotional sleeves. Both new containers were created by the Krones design team, who took a detailed and versatile approach in meeting the client’s specifications, the relevant technological requirements posed and ongoing market demand.
| Project: | New sleeve labeling machine |
| Client: | Grupo Leche Rio |
| Location: | Lugo, Spain |
| Commissioning: | April 2021 |
| Scope: | • Sleevematic labeller • Shrinkmat steam tunnel • System for container date-coding |
The Sleevematic labeller and the Shrinkmat steam tunnel were linked up to the existing line using new container conveyors from Krones. The installation took place during a general overhaul of the aseptic line to avoid any interruption to production. Upon completion of the general overhaul, the entire aseptic line was revalidated.
It was not only the top-quality machines, but also the local service support, successful project management and good collaboration with Krones in the past which made the dairy company opt once again for Krones.
