The results of this year’s sustainability ratings are in: Krones received two gold medals.
Are we on the right track with our sustainability strategy? External ratings play an important role in answering this question because they hold up an objective mirror to what is – naturally – a subjective internal view. One of the world’s most important ratings in the field of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) is that of EcoVadis. More than 100,000 companies and organisations now voluntarily participate in it, including Krones.
Results improved again
The results of the current assessment round were announced in the summer. For our Group, these were positive in several respects. Both Krones and System Logistics were awarded a gold medal. For Krones, this is already the third gold in a row, and for our Italian subsidiary, the second. With 80 out of a possible 100 points each, both can count themselves among the top five per cent of all companies assessed; within their own industries, they are even among the top three per cent.
The rating results also clearly show that Krones remains true to its stance on climate protection and ESG – despite the sometimes highly controversial social debates surrounding these issues. “Krones regards sustainability as a fundamental pillar of our corporate strategy – and that will not change. We firmly believe that a consistent path towards sustainability is key to unlocking future growth opportunities, both for ourselves and for our global customers,” says CEO Christoph Klenk.
