Climate protection thrives on honesty and transparency, because: Only when all the relevant facts are on the table strategies can be developed that really make a difference. For this reason, we have been publishing a Climate Transition Plan (CTP) in the Krones Group since 2023. On around 80 pages, it shows in detail how we are specifically shaping our transformation to consistently climate-friendly business processes. Targets, measures and interim successes are explained, as are areas of action that still pose challenges for us and risks that may be associated with various future scenarios.
Group-wide corporate carbon footprint
The updated version of the CTP has just been published. One of the new features: For the first time, all group locations have been included in our corporate carbon footprint for the 2024 financial year. While previously only manufacturing sites or sites with more than 250 employees were included, we now have a complete overall picture of our emissions in Scopes 1 and 2. This results in a 52 percent reduction in emissions for the group, based on the 2019 base year. We are therefore well on track to achieve our medium-term target by 2030 – a reduction of 80 percent compared to 2019. Our long-term goal is to achieve net zero emissions along the entire value chain by 2040 in accordance with the requirements of the Science Based Targets initiative.
Like all of our communication offerings, we see the CTP as an invitation to dialogue. For feedback, questions and suggestions, please use Krones’ social media channels or our central mailbox corporate.sustainability@krones.com.
