Krones leads the MDax in financial communications

      00 - Article 44957
Krones CFO Uta Anders (6th from right) and Olaf Scholz, Head of Investor Relations (4th from right), accepted the awards for first place in the category “Best Financial Communication” in the MDAX, as well as the special prize for outstanding reporting in the MDAX.
      • First place for best financial communications in the MDax category
      • Special award in the category Reporting MDax

This year marks the twelfth annual Investors’ Darling competition for financial communications, in which Prof. Dr. Henning Zülch and his team at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management examined the financial communications of companies in the Dax, MDax and SDax indices. The data used for the rankings came from a study designed specifically for this purpose by the HHL. Each year, the capital market communications of the 160 biggest Dax-family corporations are analysed on the basis of what is called the RIC model (reporting, investor relations and capital markets).

Under Reporting and Investor Relations, all of the companies’ communication channels are examined for consistency and quality – with a focus on reporting from the sender’s perspective. The HHL starts by analysing the content of the annual and half-yearly reports as well as the investor-relations presentations, website and social-media channels, examining how completely and consistently each company reports on its management, financials, non-financials and expected developments.

The third aspect, Capital Markets, emphasises the recipient’s perspective. The goal of this part of the study is to identify how capital market players view the company. One method used here is comparing share performance over the last three years against the respective benchmarks. In addition, a comprehensive perception study is conducted, in which experts assess the management, the Investor Relations department and the communication tools used by the company.

At yesterday’s awards ceremony in Frankfurt am Main, a joint event organised by manager magazin and the private bank Berenberg, Krones CFO Uta Anders had two reasons to be pleased: the company’s top spot among its MDax peers plus one special award in the category of Reporting, also within the MDax. “We are honoured to have been chosen for two awards this year, as they are a benchmark for the quality of financial communication in the German capital market. We always strive to continually improve our financial communications to match the growing needs of investors and analysts.”

Krones ranked 4th overall among the 160 companies examined within the Dax family of indices. More information about the Investors’ Darling competition can be found in the current edition of manager magazin (Issue 10/25), which is available only in German.
