New building completed for the Krones Academy
After the Krones Academy at the facility in Neutraubling had come up against the limits of its capacities, due to the multiplicity of training options required, the decision was taken in 2017 to erect a new building and at the same time to expand the premises. The project was completed in early September.
“Our clients are investing not in training courses, but in performance. After all, it’s Krones’ aim to ensure that firstly companies learn how to get maximised benefit from Krones’ technologies, and secondly to communicate to our clients soundly based, goal-driven knowledge.” It was with these words that Andreas Müller, Director of the Krones Academy, inaugurated the new building for the training centre at company headquarters in Neutraubling. It has been given a modern, but deliberately unpretentious design. “We opted for a relatively utilitarian concept, but nonetheless attached significant importance to an agreeable ambience and sophisticated presentation technology,” to quote Andreas Müller.
To enable realistic training to be performed on actual machines, not only have 16 training rooms been provided, but also a 1,500-square-metre hall, where participants are instructed on both new technologies and on older generations of kit.
The training courses are not focused solely on machine maintenance and operator control. “Meanwhile, participants are given a more comprehensive spectrum of knowledge, such as methods for efficient production planning and for optimising process sequences,” explains Andreas Müller, adding that the Academy is utilised not only by Krones’ clients. “We also attach due importance to expanding our internal advanced training measures. The globalised, licensed skilling of our service trainers is already very well established. On the international stage, particularly, however, we shall continue to progress the train-the-trainer concept, and thus strengthen still further our local centres, so that they can operate faster and more autonomously.”
