Best marks for the Krones design experts

There is a Bavarian saying that goes as follows: No insult is sufficient praise. But let's be honest: Everybody is happy about a compliment.

And if it goes along with an award to enhance the appreciation, we are all the more proud.

The shelves of the Krones design experts are crowded with ever more awards. Design, lightweighting, overall concept - those are the categories in which Krones can score when it comes to container design. And because the ideas are convincing, our PET containers are permanently granted new awards:

      Krones bicycle bottle

      Cuts a sporty figure

Handiness meets design – has long been the motto of the Krones design team. The result is a stunning new design: The Krones cycling bottle consists of stable PET, is extremely sturdy and can be reused. Geometric embossments in the body and neck area enhance the container to a veritable eye-catcher. The handy shape is also very convincing: An ergonomic grip area ensures that the bottle fits comfortably in the hand and makes it your perfect companion for sports.

In addition to the haptic highlights, the Krones cycling bottle mainly stands out with its design. The digital Krones DecoType ink-jet system applies ink in a direct-print method onto the bottle. This enables the realisation of structures which up to now could not be processed. The direct-print method enables a great variety of designs and makes sure that containers printed with DecoType are really eye-catching.

      Bottle for Krones DecoType

Body painting for bottles – without any labels or adhesive needed

In the shape of the DecoType dress applicator, Krones has for the first time unveiled a direct printing system for printing on plastic bottles. In comparison to dress featuring labels, direct printing offers significantly more freedom for attractively individualised container design. In particular, digital decoration using DecoType enables clients to print on container structures that were impossible to handle with previous labelling technologies.

With the new DecoType direct printing system, print heights of up to 200 millimetres can be achieved using UV inks. This machine, in modularised, compactly dimensioned construction, is suitable for handling empty plastic containers made of PET, PP or PE, for cylindrical and special shapes alike. The Krones DecoType expands the firm’s product portfolio for container dress applications to include an entirely new decoration variant.
