    Performance 2022

Greenhouse gas emissions Scope 1 and 2

Reduction of our corporate carbon footprint

We reduced our corporate carbon footprint by 22 percent compared to 2021. The goal is to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2030 (base year 2019) - at 46 percent, more than half of this has already been achieved. The climate target has been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and certified as being consistent with the 1.5 degrees target.

Greenhouse gas emissions Scope 3 upstream and downstream

CO₂ emissions in the upstream supply chain as well as from our products

Greenhouse gas emissions in the upstream supply chain were down slightly by 1 percent year on year but still very high compared with the base year 2019. Despite as 34% increase in order intake, our product-related greenhouse gas emissions rose only 6% over the previous year. That is thanks to enhanced energy efficiency and lower emissions factor from electricity generation.

    Water consumption and hazardous waste

    Resource use in our operations

While hazardous waste generation across the group was flat, water consumption was up 10%.

    Share of women

Promote diversity within our own workforce

The Krones Group employed more women, both in management-level positions and in general, in 2022 than in 2021.

    Education for our workforce

Participation in continuing education opportunities increased by nearly one-third compared to 2021.

    Workplace accidents

    Strengthening occupational safety

Occupational accidents are down 17 percent across the Group, and lost days due to workplace accidents are down eight percent.
