Pirsu brought online a blow-molder/filler block with a separate labeler – all from Krones – back in 2016 and was highly satisfied. Therefore, when faced with the need to add more capacity, the company has once again chosen Krones: this time around, Pirsu ordered an ErgoBloc LM for still water, the first of its kind to be delivered to Turkey.

Pirsu is a natural-spring-water bottler. The company was established by the Donanim Group in 2003 and is headquartered in the Turkish province of Aydın. Its water is piped 18 kilometers from the spring directly to the filling plant in Nazilli, in the foothills of the Sinekçiler Mountains – and bottled with no added chlorine or other disinfectants.

The 20,000-square-meter plant has several lines in operation, filling the water into PET bottles that range in size from 0.33, 0.5 and 1.5 liters to large, 19-liter jugs as well as into small drinking cups. Krones has now supplied the centrepiece for a new PET line: an ErgoBloc LM wet-end block.

Project: First ErgoBloc LM for still water in Turkey
Customer: Donanim Icecek SU Gida (Pirsu)
    Location: Nazilli, Turkey
    Commissioning: June 2022
    Scope:

ErgoBloc LM rated at 45,000 bottles per hour (for 500-milliliter bottles) with peripherals

Cleanroom to ensure a high standard of hygiene.

    Special features:

With the new equipment, Pirsu received the latest filling technology from Krones along with the best possible footprint. The layout is very compact but nevertheless offers excellent accessibility for operating and maintenance personnel.

The line was fully tested at Krones’ Neutraubling plant prior to shipping, and Pirsu received videos and photos of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). So the FAT could be completed without anyone from Pirsu needing to be physically present. The ErgoBloc LM could then be seamlessly integrated into the existing landscape of lines. All operating personnel received on-the-job training from the Krones technicians during the commissioning. The local service team from Krones Makina, Turkey, was responsible for installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
