Digital decoration technology: The revolution for the packaging market
One thing is certain: There must be a radical change in the way people treat packaging and resources – and a shift away from the wanton consumption of resources towards a sustainable circular economy. While this train of thought is gradually spreading among the masses, we at Krones are already more than one step ahead. For today, our solutions already extend far beyond the initial cycle. We will show you how and why from 16th to 23rd October at the K 2019 in Dusseldorf. We are looking forward to welcoming you!
Millions of bottles are already being recycled with Krones MetaPure systems today – depending on the requirements in different material qualities, and even up to food-grade PET. Since we apply a holistic approach when it comes to our solutions, we are expanding our technology step-by-step to include other types of plastics. The MetaPure W washing modules are already designed today to process both PET and polyolefins (PO). At the K 2019, you will be even able to view the interior of the module’s pre-wash components.
Krones also cooperates closely with Stadler Anlagenbau GmbH to equip its customers with precisely tailored turnkey factories. The company is one of the market leaders in the field of sorting systems and has already sold more than 350 turnkey systems and 2,000 individual components worldwide. At the Krones stand, experts from both cooperation partners will be happy to discuss the concrete synergy effects and overall solutions that will result from the collaboration.
Would you like to process preforms comprising 100 percent recyclate? No problem at all with Contiform stretch blow moulders. The high-speed version of the series, the Contiform 3 Speed, will be exhibited at the K 2019 with one blowing station. At a station output of up to 2,750 containers per hour, it produces custom-fit packaging solutions for still water, carbonated soft drinks and sensitive products. As with all of the machines in the Contiform series, it is designed to have high energy and media efficiency. It can even improve on the very low energy and compressed-air consumption of the Contiform 3 Pro by an additional 15 percent.
When it comes to reducing the use of materials, we mostly think of the beverages containers first. But if we look a bit closer, we can see that there is plenty of savings potential in the area of secondary packaging as well. The LitePac series is made up of innovative packs and packaging that are in keeping with modern times in terms of sustainability and preservation of resources.
Flip Lid is a completely innovative packaging system developed by Krones and Aptar. Due to the fact that the lid and the bottle are permanently joined together, the lid is prevented from being discarded into the environment – and ensures that the entire beverage bottle is sent back for recycling.
