Coffee, Tea First bottling line for RISE Kombucha RISE Kombucha was born in 2008 when two Canadian entrepreneurs, Mathieu Gallant and David Côté, decided to try selling a mostly unknown beverage in their vegan restaurant. In 2009, with two additional partners, Simon Bertrand and Julian Giacomelli, RISE was born.
Beer, Digital Services Schneider Weisse invested in a new glass filler and a digital maintenance management But no matter how multi-facetted and distinctively original the beers of the Schneider Weisse brewery from Kelheim in Bavaria are, they’ve got one thing in common: they do not undergo fermentation in tanks but in open vats. This ensures that the yeast gets enough oxygen, thus enabling the wide variety of aromas to be created that is typical for Schneider. “I personally think our main beer type, the Original Schneider Weisse, is an ingenious beer – precisely because we owe the open fermentation process to this beer,” explains Hans-Peter Drexler. The brewmaster has been working for the company for 38 years and today heads the Technology and Logistics Divisions as managing director. “Ensuring that this great process is retained has always been a matter of crucial importance to me.”
Digital Services Full speed ahead into the virtual world. Video conferences, remote service, webinars Lockdowns, travel restrictions, physical distancing – a year ago, few would have imagined what the “new normal” would look like in 2020. The coronavirus pandemic has the entire world in suspense. But there’s no time to stand still, certainly not in an essential sector such as the food and beverage industry. And so, instead of stopping us in our tracks, the crisis has inspired an unparalleled drive to find new ways of working together, from a distance.
Beer New Steinecker brewhouse for the Kaiserdom brewery The links between Krones and the Kaiserdom brewery have a long history behind them: the first Krones machine, a labeller for swing-stopper bottles, was commissioned by the client back in 1959, and since 1968 Kaiserdom has been using a Steinecker brewhouse. Now it was time for newer technologies, automation, and more energy-efficiency: following expansion of the fermentation and storage cellar Kaiserdom has invested in a new brewhouse – and put its trust in Krones.
Milk Dry-aseptic PET-Lines for Gropper Last year, Gropper celebrated its 90th anniversary. The company has grown considerably since its founding: the erstwhile cheese maker is now a mid-sized enterprise producing private-label dairy products, not-from-concentrate (NFC) juices, smoothies, and bottled water for customers across Europe. Gropper now processes around 350 million litres of milk a year. Originally an all-dairy operation, Gropper now also produces juice, smoothies, and bottled water. The company’s spirit of innovation is strong
Beer, Soft drinks, Digital Services Murau brewery completes investment thrust In Murau, the sails were set fair for modernisation during the past twelve years – with the brewery investing an impressive 77 million euros in technology, vehicles and marketing. Following the brewhouse and the fermentation and storage cellar, Krones now also supplied the new bottling line for glass containers – and proactively minimised the time required for installation and commissioning.
Juice, Soft drinks Spitz – simply unequalled From sliced bread and BBQ sauces all the way through to beverages – when you browse the shelves in Austrian supermarkets, then you’ll find Spitz everywhere you look. The company is a sort of hidden champion, since it produces not only numerous brands of its own but also a huge array of dealer’s brands for food and beverage retailers. The demand for energy drinks, juices and ice tea, in particular, is unbroken. Which is precisely why the company has now invested in a new dry-aseptic line from Krones.
Milk, Digital Services Complete dairy for TINE The owners of TINE, Norway's biggest producer of dairy products, know each of their cows by name. And it's no wonder: TINE is a cooperative, owned primarily by the farmers who supply the company with raw milk. For the construction of its new dairy in Bergen, TINE has opted to rely on the power of family – purchasing its process technology from the Krones family of companies.
Beer Exponential expansion at Hijos de Rivera “We don’t want to be the best-selling beer, just the most popular,” runs the almost modest-sounding goal of Ignacio Rivera, the CEO of Hijos de Rivera, an innovative family-owned brewery from Spain’s north-west. In fact, the popularity of its beer brands is growing rapidly throughout the whole of Spain. What’s the recipe behind this success?
Spirits Unique labeller for Mozart Distillerie A label with creases – a no-no, really, but at the Mozart Distillerie this imperfectionism is quite intentional. Because the shiny paper foil wrapped around the spherical liqueur bottles quite deliberately evokes the impression that it has been applied by hand. With manual labelling, the high production figures would long since have ceased to be feasible, but the old line, too, was gradually approaching the limits of its capacity, in terms of both output and technological standards. This is why Mozart has now invested in a new labeller, which Krones has meticulously customised to suit the liqueur producer’s wishes.
